Audit Manager – Baton Rouge, LA

Position Purpose
The Audit Quality Control Manager is responsible for managing the audit department workflow as well as providing support to the audit team as needed to achieve excellent audit quality, increase revenue realization and enhance service delivery.  Additionally, responsibilities include assisting the CAS department in preparing a quality product through rotating annual review of financial statements and related work papers and performance of internal audit procedures.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Engagement Services – audit:
    • Monitoring engagement progress to include scheduling, due dates, and lockdowns;
    • Reviewing audit, review and compilation reports and workpapers
    • Preparing an audit lockdown form for each audit within 2 weeks of report delivery.
  • Engagement Services – CAS:
    • Reviewing CAS reports and workpapers on a rotating basis, where each client is reviewed at least once every two years.  Items to consider include:
      • Appropriateness of report
      • Timeliness of report
      • Bank reconciliation appears proper
      • Other reconciliations as appropriate are being performed
    • Perform on a rotating basis internal audit procedures for CAS jobs relating to payroll and cash disbursements, especially those clients where we use electronic signature authority.

Related to Quality Control:

  • Maintaining the firm’s Quality Control Manual and supervising the monitoring aspect of that manual to include preparing for and assisting during the annual inspection/peer review;
  • Assisting Administrator in monitoring the firm’s record retention policy as regards to attestation engagements.

Related to Technical and Training:

  • Training of audit team members, to include communication of new auditing and accounting standards as well as continuing training relating to F&W report presentation, workpaper techniques and audit process;
  • Training of CAS team members, to include continuing training relating to F&W report presentation, accounting issues, and reconciliation process;
  • Regularly reviewing websites and newsletters for new pronouncements and best practices to incorporate into staff training;
  • Assisting the firm in monitoring of CPE courses for all professional staff as well as staff that participate on governmental attestation engagements;
  • Provide training on audit process and technology as well as firm policies and mentoring to new audit staff.
