Human Resources Director:
Introduction: The ideal candidate for this newly established role will possess exceptional interpersonal skills to bolster our organization and its employees. They will ensure the effectiveness, engagement, efficiency, and alignment of our human resources programs and initiatives with our overarching mission and business objectives. The HR Director will enhance existing processes and introduce new ones, implementing strategies that foster business growth, enhance employee retention, cultivate staff-leader relations, manage job satisfaction, attract top-tier recruits, and uphold the organization's values. The chosen candidate will serve as an exemplar, instilling confidence, trust, optimism, respect, fairness, and collaboration. They should bring a proven track record of innovating HR solutions across diverse organizational levels. This individual will play a pivotal role among senior leaders, offering guidance as an advisor and reliable partner to teams, leaders, and employees. As a coach, mentor, and leader, the HR Director will be a team player adept at shaping our culture, amplifying employee engagement, nurturing talent, analyzing business scenarios with critical insight, and adeptly solving complex people-centric challenges. The candidate should possess the skills to proactively identify opportunities for synergies that further integrate our mission, while maintaining personal and collective accountability.
Responsibilities: Core duties and responsibilities encompass, but are not confined to:
- Lead the organization's human resources domain
- Collaborate with the leadership team to conceive, develop, implement, and assess HR strategies, programs, and policies in accordance with federal and state regulations, and aligned with the nonprofit's overarching mission and business objectives
- Address day-to-day employee relations matters and recommend appropriate courses of action to management
- Partner with senior leadership to comprehend the organization's objectives and strategies, executing plans and initiatives for workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, training and development, as well as engagement and retention
- Craft memorable onboarding experiences for new hires
- Function as a subject matter expert for leadership and managers in HR-related matters, covering topics such as organizational and leadership efficacy, employee engagement, and growth
- Collaborate with leaders and the marketing team to design an impactful employee communication program that imparts the organization's direction
- Identify and engage exceptional talent for vacant positions, assisting the organization in recruiting and retention through strategic succession planning
- Develop and implement programs for employee engagement, development, and recognition
- Coach and assist managers and leaders, delivering constructive feedback in a constructive and positive manner
- Devise holistic strategies that foster diversity and inclusivity in talent attraction, engagement, growth, and retention
- Foster constructive relationships with internal stakeholders and external athletes
- Collaborate with legal counsel to ensure adherence to employment laws and regulations
- Motivate and back current staff, prioritizing engagement and retention
- Provide valuable employee benefits packages
- Oversee payroll, employee records, compensation matters, and unemployment claims
- Ensure accuracy and currency of team member information
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with a major or focus in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a closely related field
- 5-7 years of progressive HR experience, including robust managerial expertise
- Current senior HR certification from SHRM or HRCI (SHRM-SCP or SPHR), or an advanced degree, is preferred
- Outstanding interpersonal, writing, and communication skills
- Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills, including experience in program, personnel, and strategy development
- Strategic and creative thinking abilities, capable of influencing others through coaching and development
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, adhering to timelines, thriving under pressure, and adept at managing multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
- Self-starter with the capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
- Familiarity with federal and state labor laws and regulations
- Proactive, motivated, enthusiastic, and driven
- Travel of up to 20% within Florida
- Proficiency in Excel and HRIS systems
- Passion for our nonprofit's mission

- Must be willing to travel and fulfill weekend and evening responsibilities as assigned
